Sending flowers is straightforward when you live down the road. It gets harder from three time zones away, when you can't see the shop, can't check the bouquet, and can't drive over if something goes wrong. Whether you're a daughter in Chicago sending to a parent in Sherman Oaks, a company in New York thanking a client in Century City, or someone who moved away and still marks every birthday — this is a guide to sending flowers to Los Angeles from out of town, and getting it right the first time.
Why Who Makes the Bouquet Matters More From a Distance
When you order locally, you can walk in. From out of town you're trusting entirely, which makes the choice of florist the whole decision.
National wire services and marketplace sites don't make flowers. They take your order and route it to whichever shop in the area accepts the job that day — and you have no say in which one, and no idea what standard they hold. The photo you chose is a suggestion, not a promise.
A local studio works differently. We take the order, select the stems, design the bouquet in our own studios in Glendale and North Hollywood, and deliver it ourselves. The Time Zone Trap
This catches out-of-state senders constantly, so it's worth being direct about it.
Our cutoff times are Pacific. Order by 5 PM PT Monday through Saturday, or 4 PM PT on Sunday, for same-day delivery. Working backwards from where you might be:
- Eastern time — 8 PM ET weekdays and Saturday, 7 PM ET Sunday.
- Central time — 7 PM CT weekdays and Saturday, 6 PM CT Sunday.
- Mountain time — 6 PM MT weekdays and Saturday, 5 PM MT Sunday.
That's more generous than most people assume — an East Coast sender remembering at dinnertime is usually still in time. Working the other way, if you're overseas, remember LA is behind most of the world: your Tuesday evening may still be Tuesday morning here.
What to Have Ready Before You Order
From a distance, the details do the work you'd otherwise do in person:
- The complete address — including apartment, unit, or suite number. LA has a lot of large buildings and repeated street names.
- A working phone number for the recipient. The single most important field. If there's any question at the door, this is how it gets solved without calling you at 6 AM your time.
- Access notes — gate codes, building entrances, front-desk instructions, which door to use.
- Business hours if it's going to a workplace, so it doesn't arrive after everyone's left.
- Your card message — and sign it clearly. They may not be expecting anything.
Know Roughly Where You're Sending
Los Angeles is enormous, and “LA” covers neighborhoods an hour apart. You don't need local knowledge — but knowing the neighborhood helps you confirm you're in our coverage.

You can't inspect the flowers, so choose for the person and let us handle the execution.
